Dr. Callery has been practicing family dentistry in the Chester community for over 30 years. He received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from East Tennessee State University. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia’s School of Dentistry where he obtained his dental degree, graduating with honors in 1976.

He is an active member of many professional organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, Nottoway Study Club, and the Southside Dental Association. Dr. Callery has and continues to attend many continuing education courses in dentistry to continue to learn new and updated techniques and methods to better treat his patients. At one time he was also a part time instructor at VCU/MCV School of Dentistry.

Dr. Callery generously donates his time to several charitable organizations including years of dedication to the Chester Family YMCA. He is a very active member of the community and enjoys giving back to the community, that has helped to support his dental practice for the past 30 years.

Dr. Maurer has the wonderful opportunity to practice his craft in Chester and to serve his hometown. A native of the area, he was a student at C.C. Wells Elementary, Carver Middle, and Thomas Dale High schools. He went on to receive his B.S. in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and then attended VCU’s School of Dentistry where he received an A.D. Williams scholarship and graduated in the top of his class.

As a dental student, Dr. Maurer volunteered with community outreach programs and continues helping the underserved. He is passionate about dentistry and the way it can improve a person’s quality of life. Since a small child Dr. Maurer always knew he wanted to be a dentist, and everyday he gets to do what he truly loves and as a bonus gets to help people!

In addition to his regular general dentistry duties at Callery & Maurer, Dr. Maurer is leading the pediatric and surgical portions of the practice. He also certified in invisalign®, which gives him the ability to offer orthodontic care for qualifing candidates. Currently he is a member of the Southside Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
